It Might Get Loud

So, this is my first blog post. I didn't really come into this wanting to be a 'blogger'.. I just wanted to follow some pretty cool blogs, you know- chill on the sidelines. I was down for that. But, no.. I had to come up with an awesome blog name (Astron Chapters!). Astron being from my love for stars, and because my real name actually comes very close to Astron (Esther). And, Chapters, coming from my love for books, and.. well... Chapters sounds freaking sweet next to Astron. Also, a bunch of kudos go to Svetlana for telling me the name of a song would be a stupid thing to call your blog.

Now, well, where am I? I'm blogging at three in the morning, Christmas morning to be exact. I just got done watching the most amazing documentary ever (more on that later), and now I'm sitting back, listening to a Led Zeppelin DVD. How Many More Times is currently blasting, and I am sure all of my family members over for Christmas are thrilled by that. Even they are used to it, though. That's what Cricket does... she stays up all hours of the night with music screeching. Haha.

Anyway, as I previously mentioned, I just finished a documentary called 'It Might Get Loud'. It was about three musicians and the way guitar impacted their lives, how they manipulated the instrument to become a part of themselves, and, well... it inspired me. I haven't felt this kind of inspiration in a long, long, time. And if I can get it from watching three guys talk about it, then what massive amounts would I get from playing it? Ah, well, I'm rattling... The three musicians were Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin (Nommm, he's such a beautiful man), The Edge of U2, and Jack White of the White Stripes/Raconteurs. Let's just say, when I discovered the existence of this documentary, it felt as though this was made in the heavens solely for my enjoyment. How more perfect could it get? Two of my favorite musicians (sorry, The Edge!), talking about music. It was gorgeous. However, after I found out about it, I didn't have the ability to watch it. I couldn't find it online, I didn't have the cash to buy or rent it... so, I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, Christmas morning, a little after midnight to be exact, I try for the first time in months, and there it is - the link to this wonderful movie just lying there. So, I clicked, and I watched... the amazing thing being I didn't have to wait for it to load (Heaven-sent, I told you). I pretty much stared at the screen with tears in my eyes for the 94 minutes it played. I would suggest this movie to any guitar/music/documentary fan. It was magic.

Ah, well. How is that for a first blog post? I'm sure they'll get shorter, but I thought a nice, big fat one would be a great way to start this off. First miracle: Make a blog. Second miracle: Make a post on the blog. Third Miracle: Get some followers?
